Baby Shower

This cute little Baby Feet cloth was adorable hanging on the outside of the baby shower gift bag. That was my job. I used Omega Sinfonia which is a sport weight cotton and size 7 needles. The pattern is quick and easy.








And the gift hiding in the bag was a snuggle sized (or car seat) blanket knit by dd#1. She was going to do the Multidirectional Diagonal pattern but at the half way point decided to finish with Grandma's Favorite cloth (without the eyelets on the edge). We were a spidget short on the green but we did a little fudging that was not noticeable (to most anyway).

The yarn is Cascade 220 100% Superwash wool. One skein of blue and one of green. She used size 8 needles.

Baby Booties

I think the pattern gets obscured with this yarn...although this yarn is VERY soft.

Hats

My dd#2 has a favorite knit hat. It is store bought and has seams. The seams make the hat look funny when worn. I think so anyway! So I promised that I'd make a hat for her just like the store bought one except NO seams.

This hat is in Andean Treasure (Knitpicks) and is super soft.








This next hat is for my cousin's friend who is having a baby in December. Free Pattern Here. This yarn is Sirdar Snuggly Bubbly. I was only able to get one skein of pink so I am also using white because she wanted a hat....a pair of baby mitts (one done)....
and a pair of baby booties (soon to be started).

I'd have to say that I'm not overly fond of this yarn even though it is super soft.

I thought these were already posted...guess not.

These were made for the twins who were born in August. (friends of ours at church)

The magazine pictures are on a half of a colored file folder (tacked with stick glue) and covered with clear contact paper. We used a twisted cord from the yarn that we used to knit the bunnies (also a gift to the twins and shown in another post). The cord goes around the seat/headrest of the car so the babies can "talk" to the pictures while riding around in the car.

Little Bunnies!

Here's a project that my dd#1 quickly whipped up for a gift for the baptism of twins (besides a pan of lasagne for the mom and dad--that I made).



The Knitted Bunny is an easy project. Just knit a square! Well......and some ears...and we knit a tail instead of pulling out a bit of fluff. We also knit collars in the contrasting colors. (Just a 4 or 5 stitch i-cord, knit to fit.)









Instructions for tail:
CO 5
1: k
2: k2, p, k2
3: Repeat rows 1 & 2, 5 times more (6 times total)
4: ssk, k, k2tog
5: k, p, k
6: sl 1, k2tog, psso
7: cut yarn & pull through last st.

We did the ears this same way except we did a total of 8 repeats of rows 1 & 2.

This yarn is Schoeller + Stahl, Hobby Kids Color, color 4669 and 4666. We picked up a pink (4664) yesterday at the yarn store to make another for the older (3yo) sister. She has captured one of the twin's bunnies and it's living in her purse!

Here's a baby snuggle size blanket (or for in the car). It's knit with the Superwash Merino. Very soft yarn! It measured about 32" on the diagonal.


And I knit up some baby socks with the matching Super Sock yarn. One regular pair and one spiral pair for a longer fit. (The smaller pair didn't fit so I'll crochet a chain and they'll become a Baby's First Christmas ornament.)

Oh and a hat made from Snuggly Bubbly! My dh insisted on that yarn. It is also very soft. These were all done in Jan 2006.

The first picture shows the bands I made to wrap around each item with the care information, etc..

The new parents were thrilled!
